Around the World in 80 Pizzas

The pizza business happens to be a lucrative endeavour. Just stock up on some toppings as well as knead some flour and water to create pizza dough and fire up- the oven and thats it (of course there is more to consider yet in a general perspective, there isnt really more to do). The client, wanting to jump in this business trend in the fastest way possible, commisionned Mark to create a graphic that shows the world enclosed in a circle with the name World Pizza... and he got it, quickly... (lolz)

This logo is made quite simple really. In fact, it is too simple. Yet for the sake of showing the thought process of this brand, the logo is displayed. Grabbing a vector map of the world on a source site, Mark placed this on an envelope filter within his favorite vector editor and made it conform in a circle. giving it a fisheye look which fits in the enclosure. Colored it in pizza colors, and voila, a quick logo that he didnt expect to see the light of day yet was strongly approved and loved by the client. Frankly speaking, this work is a mark of haste and pressure, therefore showing what Mark is capable of doing on the matter of speed.

The CHALLENGE however was yet tp show itself. After creating a really quick brand, he was tasked to create a lifesize map of the 80 flavors/country names of the pizzas in stock. It was a layout nightmare having to make the whole thing look harmonious. Imagine having to put together items of odd numbers in a symetric way along with typography and layout to consider. This is where the genius and back breaking lies.

In the end, Mark was able to fulfil the job. As work puts it, nothing is impossible as long as you put your mind to it. Up until today, the menu stays on the top area of the garden kiosk of the French Consular lot, delighting people with the rustic design and the many choices to choose from in terms of pizza flavors.
