Chateau de France
Home of French Bread and Pastries in the Philippines
One of the earliest works of Mark was to supply direction for a new business: Chateau de France; a french boulangerie which sells rich danish pastries, delicious macarons, and artisanal bread, all frozen from France, yet oven-baked to an authentic degree. The feel was similar to that of the PAUL group yet with the charm of LADUREE Macarons
A simple logo study was made: Wheat and the french insigna worded by the beautiful garamond font. Applications of these logos have been made to adapt different tangible and online treatments. These would be used all thoughout the collaterals and the packaging for this company.
Wanting a shocking treatment to the macaron boxes, Mark was introduced for the first time on the concepts of print production pantone-ing. Plotting the layout for spot colors was learned through this early project. A mix of turquoise and hot magenta colors gave the contrast of a trendy item. Pop artistry is also shown in the color manipulation of the macaron photo instances.
As all businesses, collaterals are prepared with great detail and alignment. Collaborations between known brands have materialised as this brand proved to be something unique within the Philippine market.
